SECTION 1 --- Basic No Blush epoxy BARTOP (tm) version

Basic No Blush - special "BARTOP" version (sold in 1.5 gal units). Great for Live Edge or "framed" projects

A specially formulated version of our popular Basic No Blush epoxy.

Note that blushing is a waxy film that can form on the top of cheaper, lower quality epoxies. We use only non blushing epoxy chemicals.

Typical orders are for 1 - 3 units (each unit being 1 gal of Epoxy Part A and a half gal of BARTOP Part B epoxy hardener).

FYI: A 1.5 gallon unit of Basic No Blush epoxy will cover about 200 sf if rolled on a flat surface. If poured 1/4 inch thick into a 'framed' table top or bar top, that same 1.5 gallons will only cover 9 sf.

Basic No Blush BARTOP has the specific properties helpful for bar top, table top and penny floors:

* contains bubble breakers (bubble are a real problem with epoxy pours - even the other on-line vendors are forced to address this issue). We are the only people with bubble breakers in this class of epoxy resins. It gives the part a cloudy look in the jugs, but totally clear when used on tables and bars.

* reduced viscosity - a thinner epoxy system for better self leveling and spreadability.

* longer pot life - about 20 or 25% more working time per batch of epoxy than the regular Basic No Blush epoxy. This is helpful in warmer weather and when coving larger surface areas.

OTHER VERSIONS OF BASIC NO BLUSH EPOXY (only a real coatings company can develop new formulations of their epoxies).

One version of Basic No Blush allows boat builders to work with the epoxy in temps at or below freezing. Picture building a small boat in an unheated barn in Vermont in February.

Another version of Basic No Blush (standard cure) is used to re-seal pebble decks around patios and pools (usually in Florida) in the spring and summer when temperatures are cooler.

A third version is Basic No Blush is used in very warm temperatures (mostly boat repairs in summer time southern USA).

The TABLETOP version was formulated and added into our family of No Blush (tm) epoxies in Aug 2020 (explaining the lack of customer pictures, quotes, etc.).

SECTION 2 --- Thin non-pour epoxy surfaces with non epoxy top coat.

Usually this is our ESP 155 epoxy (tm) sealer with INDIA SPAR VARNISH  (and sometimes the $$$ ACRYLIC POLY UV PLUS on top of the India Spar Varnish). The INDIA SPAR VARNISH can be waxed and buffed to a mirror finish (picture sliding that pitcher of beer down the bar top surface!). We like the INDIA SPAR VARNISH top coat. It provides good outdoor UV protection (like you see on the wood trim on boats) and a fresh coat can easily be re-applied to return to the 'like new' appearance.

Typical orders are for one unit of ESP 155 (one quart of Part A and one quart of Part B) and one or two quarts of the India Spar Varnish. Usually 2 coats of ESP 155 and 2 or 3 coats of India Spar Varnish are applied. Note that you can also brush on the thicker and solvent free Basic No Blush BARTOP instead of the ESP 155. The Basic No Blush epoxies can be shipped to California.

ESP 155, India Spar Varnish, and Acrylic Poly UV Plus all contain solvents and cannot be shipped/sold in California. The can only be purchased at our PRIMARY ON-LINE STORE. Please do not purchase if your SHIP TO address is in California. (click here for purchase links).

Thick epoxy layers are expensive. Perhaps you really don’t need the “thick look” of a poured epoxy surface. Seal and stablize the surface with our solvent base ESP 155 epoxy and then top coat with our India Marine Spar Varnish. Do not applied over white surfaces (as these products have a slight tint to them will show up unevenly against a white background).

These products all have other popular applications outside of Table Top Bar Top projects:

ESP 155 is: 1) a common concrete sealer, primer - 2) sealer over old fiberglass boat hulls, 3) wood sealer Learn More Sold in 2 quart kits.

INDIA SPAR VARNISH is a common UV blocker over epoxy surfaces, usually in the boat repair and maintenance market. Learn More Sold in 1 quart units.

ACRYLIC POLY UV PLUS has UV blocking additives. Commonly used on epoxy floors to stop yellowing and/or in the application of colored paint chips to epoxy floors. It is NOT a user friendly product and not recommended for users with experience using 2-part polyurethanes. Learn More Sold in 1 gallon kits.

"I bought some ESP 155 as a prime coat and used your India Marine Spar Varnish on top - unbelievably good! Forty year old mahogany seats in my dingy look as good as the brand new gunwales. Not sure how well it projects on the camera - dark basement- but looks so, so good!" John 1/15

Best option for outdoors

esp 155 epoxy table top

Minwax (tm) oil stain - left to dry for 2 weeks - 2 coats ESP 155 epoxy sealer and primer - 4 coats of India Spar Varnish (note ESP 155 and Varnish not for sale in California)

Why ESP 155 epoxy sealer and primer is the BEST in its class:

1) Uses superior CYCLOALIPHATIC curing agents and epoxy ADDUCT formulation

2) solvent based for better penetration

3) moisture tolerant, very low viscosity

4) strong user support / feedback

SECTION 3 --  Bio Clear 810 epoxy (tm) - our original, professional grade surface epoxy

Our BIO CLEAR 810 is a favorite with professional epoxy resin top folks and epoxy resin artists. It is a thin epoxy with reduced yellowing and very low surface tension (for outstanding self leveling). If applied too thin over a really smooth surface it will sometimes ‘fisheye” so it is recommended pours with a minimum thickness of 1/4 inch and no "live edge”.

Due to its very high quality part A resins, the Part A will sometimes begin to self crystalize on its own over time - so we keep our inventory fresh and check before sending it out. This is just “the price” of offering a very top of the line bar top epoxy system.

THIS IS THE ONLY TABLE TOP EPOXY THAT USES A CYCLO-ALIPHATIC FORMULATION AND

CONTAINS NO NONYL PHENOL (THAT IS WHY IT IS THE BEST AND THE FAVORITE EPOXY FOR PROFESSIONALS)

Typical orders are for 1 - 3  three gallon units (each unit being 2 gallons of Epoxy Part A and a one gallon of Part B epoxy hardener). Also sold in 48 oz test units and 1.5 gal units.

Largest Pour with this epoxy was 1156 square feet. As I write this I am working on a 27 gallon order for a Brewery in the Mid West. This is their second order. You don't find these kinds of commercial epoxy pour projects with the 'craft epoxies' offered on the other web sites.

The PROs use Bio Clear 810 because the 'other bargain internet' stuff

just doesn't perform up to commercial standards

A commercial epoxy pour contractor recently used our Bio Clear 810 to replace a badly yellowed epoxy poured covered logo on the INSIDE  floor of regional airport terminal with our 'almost no yellowing' Bio Clear 810 (cyclo-aliphatic epoxies to the rescue!).

Don't be like the first contractor that just poured some cheap clear epoxy over the airport logo and thought they did a good job. It looked fine to start with and the contractor made a few extra dollars using generic clear epoxy. Too bad. The airport was lucky they could redo their badly damaged cheap epoxy mistake. Most folks cannot redo their special poured epoxy table top.

One contractor/customer was hired to do a poured epoxy floor in the Hawaii based recording studio (the 1156 sf exampled mentioned above) of a retired famous rock star with our Bio Clear 810 epoxy (plus lots of commercial bar tops and airport terminal logo floors). All we can add is that most of our commercial contractor Bio Clear 810 customers started out with other epoxy brands and shifted over to us.

Bio Clear 810 epoxy man cave Bottle Cap Bar

Hi Paul,

To start we glued black formica to the counter top 3/4" plywood base and built a 5/16" plywood strip dam around it. The release agent was waxed paper and was placed between the dam and the plywood countertop base then run up and over the dam. Everything was taped in place to include the bottom seam between the dam and the base. The dam was attached with screws and was pretty tight. This was done on a boat so we had to level the whole thing. We placed glass flat stones, which were a uniform 3/8" in height, all over the formica and poured the Bio Clear to the top of the dam. My wife wanted a little relief with the top of the stones showing so we poured until we got the effect she wanted. We found we needed an aluminum yard stick to spread the resin over the top of the rocks because the resin tended to flow up the rocks but not all of the way over them. The Bio Clear flowed out nicely with no trapped bubbles or any other problems. The few bubbles we had were very small and worked their own way out. I think a nice steady slow pour was also one of the reasons we didn't get many bubbles. The room temperature was a consistent 72 degrees. We ended up using less than the gallon of Bio Clear - probably about three quarts. The counter top is 8' by 22". Frankly we were amazed and surprised that the project turned out so well. I think the key to our success was following the very complete instructions and tips on your website and taking our time to make sure everything was set up correctly.

As I remember you already do this but put a lot of emphasis on following the instructions exactly, reading all of the information on your website and to taking the time to preparing everything very carefully.

When the bathroom is finished I'll send you some photos.

Thanks again and best regards,

"As a professional woodworker, I was recently contracted to make a 14 foot curling table for a customer. After doing some research, I came across your Bio-Clear 810 epoxy product and chose it for the price and the eccentric web site. I figured that such a "different" web site MUST be offset by a truly quality product.

I was right!

My customer was delighted with the product and I hope to sell many more of these curling tables in the United States.

I just wanted to thank you for such a great product. I completed my first bar top table and gave it as a wedding gift to my niece and her new husband. they absolutely loved it. (pictures below!)

I read and reread all the information regarding the usage of the Bio Clear 810, including all the input from the other customers. They are right and you are right about reviewing all the information. Thank you again on a great product.
I sent some pictures on the process.

Thanks

10/12/2011

Made the time to finish the bar top. Used Bio Clear 810 and as far as we're concerned, it came out great. I did read the instructions and what to watch for.

As you can see from the pics, there is wood trim all around. It was secured with fasteners and an adhesive epoxy. I then put tape around the bottom seam just in case. What I should have done was put water on the table to check for leaks (like the instructions say). Oh Well. I was able to keep up with the drips right through the painters tape for the few areas that leaked. Enough was wasted causing me to have to buy another kit, but the final product is just what we were looking for. A friend of ours makes glass stuff and she gave us boxes of scraps. The arrangements are less than random, but varied enough to find numerous patterns. I used a hair dryer to get rid of some stubborn bubbles. There you have it.

Paul, Finally got my top poured, your product is AWESOME. I was hesitant with all I read about go small first, my top was 8'x2'6"x1/4". I'm the "Go big or go home" guy, this top was my first pour & I feel that your product made it as easy as it could be. I was very surprised at the lack of fumes, I poured in a different location & could have just poured in the store where the counter is going.
Thanks, Joseph

Thought I would send two pictures of project my son and I completed with your bio-clear 810 tabletop epoxy. My son
collected beer caps while traveling, in the US and around Europe. I made the table to fit between two lounge chairs
in his Man Cave. We filled the caps with caulk (so they would not float) and glued them to the one half inch deep table,
then poured the epoxy. I had talked to some people in your office, received some good advice, and the results were great. ---- Ray

"As a complete novice using epoxies, I was nervous about pouring a bartop over wine corks. Thanks to your great advice and superb Bio-Clear 810 the finished product looks fantastic!

We cut the corks roughly in half and glued them down using a hot glue gun covering the entire bottom of each cork. The corks were sealed with polyurethane as was the deck. Did two pours with the first not quite covering the majority of the corks. There was very little odor."

All in, you made this look like a pro job even though I was a rookie! Thanks!  Jay from Michigan
